Rajma is an essential part of North Indian cuisine & there is I guess no one who is not aware of it. It is also called as kidney beans. The Rajma is a tasty one but takes a lot time to cook and prepare. For those people who don’t have patience & want to try for cooking it, Rajma in a Jiffy is the perfect recipe to start with. This a delicious main dish recipe.
Ingredients for Rajma in a Jiffy:
Step 1) Initially, take rajma (red kidney beans) in a vessel & clean them under running water. Now, take a big bowl & put cleaned rajma in it along with 2 cups of water, & soak them whole night. Step 2) Peel the onion & cut it in thin slices in a vessel. Now, take a pressure cooker, put it with moderate flame & drop rajma with sufficient water so as to submerge them. Next, put ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, spice chili powder, turmeric powder & coriander powder along with salt as per the requirement of taste into the rajma. Stir to combine all the components. Step 3) Cover the lid & cook the rajma for around ten mins with moderate flame. Now, turn the flame from medium to low & cook again for other 5 mins. Turn off the burner, & allow the steam release on its own. Once done, uncover the lid & combine the gravy finely, see for right consistency. Rajma in a Jiffy is ready to be eaten, have it along with jeera rice or paratha. Tip: Pour slight water, if the thin gravy is your demand.
